One of our regular students lost two dress sizes while dancing at Paul Killick's Dancesport.
She says "I started in November, and a pair of trousers I wore in November just slide off me now. I dance at lunchtime, when a lot of mothers would just go for coffee and chat."
"When I started I was seeing a personal trainer four times a week, watching what I ate and working out like a madman. Dancing is less cardiovascular but tones your whole body, and is much more fun than a treadmill."
She now comes to the studio to dance for a total of ten hours a week.
She says "If you find it relaxing and a pleasure rather than a schlep like going to the gym, it's much easier. Your whole body and psyche is involved."
You can learn a wide range of dancing styles in the privacy of a one-to-one lesson with your instructor.
Its fine to start with something sedate like a waltz, which is excellent for posture as well being a very stylish, elegant dance. Or if you feel like a strenuous workout the sexy, furious samba will definitely raise your pulse!
